About Kris

Graduated with a BFA in Art from the University of WI-Oshkosh. In depth studies included photography, screen-printing, oil painting, and figure drawing. A 20 year career in graphic arts and advertising followed.

My first exposure to working in the pastel medium was in a classroom in Naples, FL.  After learning some of the basics of the medium I soon began painting with a local plein air group and then joined the Southwest Florida Pastel Society of which I am currently an active board member. I design and contribute to the SWFPS newsletter and I am the webmaster for their site.

I continue to develop my knowledge and skill base through workshops, focused studies, painting from life en plein air, studio practice, and especially by broadening my interests and relationships with other pastel painters and artists in general.
